You can use this particular setup for chasing big browns and bows on Lake Almanor, Ca. when the legendary Hex Hatch (mid June - mid July) is happening. Grab your kick tube, rig this up and go rip some lips! Here's a few tips:

The butt section will help with the flotation of line tip. Remember that fluorocarbon tippet sinks 3.5 times faster than mono tippet so that's why we use mono here. The tippet length should be adjusted based on the water clarity and time of day - basically the clearer the conditions the longer your tippet-to-fly length should be. For maximum strength use 6 turns per side and an improved blood knot for your tippet section.
